NOKIA returning back to smartphone market again after ending device contract with Microsoft Lumia series. Next NOKIA branded smartphone could be NOKIA D1C, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 processor with 3 GB RAM consisting 13 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera.
NOKIA confirmed that CEO will speak at MWC 2017 happening in February. It gives concrete proof that device will be launched over there. Well, we have to wait for few more months to get actual reality.
Few leaks gave us idea, how NOKIA can comeback with three devices in next year. First rumored device is codenamed D1C, Now, fresh images from leaksters reveals a lot what smartphone looks like.
Earlier it was guessed that Nokia D1C might be another tablet from NOKIA. Now fresh images from Weibo reveals design, details of next NOKIA’s smartphone. It may come in Gold, White & Black variants. The Gold option sports a fingerprint underneath the Home button. There are capacitive buttons and volume, power buttons are designed over right side. Rounded metal edges and 3.5 mm audio jack is on top and USB and microphone at bottom. However, actual things might be different as current design is just a leak.
NOKIA D1C also spotted earlier over benchmarking sites like Antutu, Geekbench which gives a solid reason to identify a 2K resolution display and dust resistant. Snapdragon 430 or 820 processor is coupled with 3 GB RAM and 32 onboard space.
Nokia will not be making smartphones itself, considering that it no more has the manufacturing facilities it did at its peak. It will just be acting as the owner of the brand and its patents, while overseeing the development of new phones, which will be made by HMD global; a new company that was created earlier this year. HMD will be pairing Nokia’s patents and brand with Foxconn’s R&D and manufacturing.
According to a new report by NokiaPowerUser, Nokia D1C is expected to launch at a starting price of Rs 9,999. HMD Global has been maintaining a stance that Nokia will make its comeback purely on quality construction and competitive pricing. At Rs 9,999, Nokia could take the market by surprise and go against the likes of Xiaomi and Lenovo – the dominant players in that price segment.
Nokia is planning to announce D1C in two variants with 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM options. The 2GB RAM variant will probably be priced Rs 9,999 while the 3GB RAM version will be priced Rs 12,999. NokiaPowerUser report also notes that this price is not from its usual source and needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. Nokia D1C is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 processor and will run Android 7.0 Nougat based on Z-Launcher UI. The smartphones are reported to come with only 16 gigabytes of onboard storage.
Nokia D1C with 2GB RAM is likely to sport a 5-inch Full HD display while the 3GB RAM variant will get a 5.5-inch Full HD display. There will be 13MP and 16MP rear camera respectively on both variants while the front shooter will be a standard 8MP sensor. Nokia D1C is the new favourite for internet leaks and has turned from a giant tablet to smartphone in the course of these leaks.
