Configure Exchange, POP, IMAP, outlook mail account over smartphone

Handling office emails can be a tedious task if you don’t have access on-the-go. You can’t carry a laptop everywhere to have full-fledged Microsoft outlook every time. Smartphones make this task a lot easier and handy. Here, we are going to explain how you can configure Exchange, POP, IMAP, outlook mail account on android smartphone.

By default Android smartphones uses a Google account for managing inbuilt services and mails exchange. You can provide this in beginning of booting a new smartphone which prompts for entering a Google ID for proceeding with services. You can also change this Google account anytime as per convenience.

Few things you need to know before you start to configure your corporate or official mail ID. Make sure to confirm with your Support staff regarding the type of mail service being used in the office. It can vary from Microsoft exchange to POP or IMAP account or any other mail protocol.
Follow below steps:

Open ‘Settings’ from menu drawer.

Choose ‘Accounts’ from the menu.

Select your account type which you want to configure.

If you are having a ‘Microsoft exchange’ type account, choose ‘Exchange’

Enter your mail ID, choose ‘Next’, provide your password. Choose ‘Next’.

If you are choosing ‘POP’ or ‘IMAP’ type of account then choose same.

You need to provide some additional details like name for ‘outgoing’ and ‘incoming’ servers. You can ask these details from mail provider or Support.

Select ‘Port’ and Security type as per your details.

Choose when mails should be deleted from inbox and frequency of checking mails
with the server.

Choose ‘Next’ after filling out all details, select ‘Next’ and let it verify all the security settings including your password.

If you have successfully verified all the details, you will be presented with ‘Inbox’ and sync will be performed to show your current mails.

Perform steps again or check your security settings, if you are not succeeded in mail configuration.
