Let’s talk about phone performance under normal usage. Snapdragon 435 processor handles every app smoothly and generates balanced multitasking performance. You can notice free 1.5 GB RAM most of the time with normal usage of apps. The display is really really crisp and colors, icons, text are produced flawlessly. If you ever used Redmi Note 4, you can notice the difference, everything looks more pleasant than its elder in Redmi 4. Phone is packed with 4100 mah battery which is a beast for any 5 inch phone. Redmi 4 runs smoothly for the whole day without any sign of low battery under heavy usage of Wifi or 4G LTE network.

Installed with Android 6.0.1 and MIUI, Redmi 4 outperforms on it software part. You get Dual apps, second space, security, app permission, call blacklist and other important features under one roof without any need of third party apps. This is a huge advantage for any beginners as you might struggle to choose right app with trial and error method. Intensive games with good graphics also run comfortably if you keep background usage of RAM low. You can tune the behaviour of apps through control or permission system.

13 MP camera in Redmi 4 performs perfect in good lighting conditions but produces low photographs in low light conditions. 5 MP front cam works great with some embedded software filters. All in all, camera performance is perfect for normal usage but you can’t consider it for great looking panorama or macro shots. You may need some time to adjust with its focus locking feature as it takes few seconds to lock objects in a frame.

You can either choose to insert two sims or one memory card as you got hybrid slots. This is a common feature in Redmi phones, this may sound disappointing to those who store large files on the phone for a long time.

FINAL VERDICT- Should I buy Redmi 4?

Redmi 4 proved with its design and performance that you don’t need to shell heavy amount for a premium looking device. If you are looking for a phone with a balanced performance and budget, you can grab it without thinking further. But, what can stop you from having your hands on Redmi 4 is its much hated Flash sales.  You really need to have the patience to get it from 1-second flash sales. Further, Xiaomi also expanding its offline stores and starting offline booking for Redmi 4 and Note 4.
