Using different accounts over an OS provide more customization and control over settings. Managing user accounts and passwords in Ubuntu is quite easy but comparable different to Windows.
Steps involved in managing user accounts or adding passwords Ubuntu Linux environment.
1. Ubuntu program menu is accessible through the left pane. Look for Settings icon, Click on ‘System Settings’ icon available. You will be presented with customization menu.
2. Click on ‘User accounts’ icon available in the bottom right. This will show you available user accounts.
3. Click on + sign to add other accounts with administrator or standard rights. To add a password to your account, click on password in ‘Login options’, In actions, choose ‘Set a password now’. Add your new password and confirm again and choose ‘Change’.
If you had a single administrator account then you first need to provide authentication to unlock further options.
